CELLS AND COMMITTEES

To achieve an all-round development, the College creates opportunities for the students to excel their hidden talent through social work and other extension activities. National Service Scheme (NSS) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC), Games & Sports, Seminars, Lectures, College week, study tours and other extra-curricular activities are the regular annual features of the College Calendar.
  1. Grievances Redressal Committee:

    There is an Internal Complaints Committee called Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) comprises of Principal (Chairman), senior teachers, staff and students representatives is constituted in the College to redress the grievances at the individual level, group or class level for common interest. Suggestion boxes are kept in the Students’ Common Rooms, Canteens, Teachers’ Common Room and adjacent to College Notice Board to enable the students and other stakeholders to drop in their complaints and suggestions for remedy. The Assistant Professors act as facilitators to sort out the grievances of the stakeholders at their level while the unresolved problems are referred to the GRC.

    The GRC looks into the students’ grievances. It redresses the grievances at the individual level, group or class level for common interest. “Suggestion boxes” are kept in the Students’ Common Rooms, Canteens, Lecturers’ Common Room and adjacent to College notice board so as to enable the students and other stakeholders to drop in their complaints and suggestions for remedy. The grievances are attended by the GRC members including special invitee (students). The lecturer in-charge of various committees act as facilitators to sort out the grievances of the stakeholders. Unresolved problems are referred to the GRC of the College.

    The students and other stakeholders of the college can approach the GRC with complaints of common interest or directly communicate their complaints to the Principal. Depending on the seriousness of the problem, the issues are settled by the GRC or by the Principal in consultation with the other members of the management, parents and faculty. The collective efforts of the GRC, management, departmental heads, lecturer in-charge of various committees and the GRC resolve the complaints promptly and efficiently.

  2. Career Guidance and Councelling Cell:

The Cell for Career Guidance and Counseling has been set up in the college to offer to the students as a sense of direction and an exposure to the range of openings and job possibilities available to them as they pass out of the college. The objective of setting up the Cell includes the idea of preparing the student to launch in to the next phase of life confidently and equip her/him with the ability to use and connect ‘learning’ with the living of life. Different kinds of activities will be organized by the Cell in order to:

    • Invite possible agencies/NGOs/Corporate sector/institutions/training agencies etc. for placement of the outgoing students who seek jobs.
    • Offer information about various entrance exams and scholarships available for higher education in India and abroad.
    • Provide them exposure to different kinds of career options
    • Create a base of strong values for work
    • Build a strong sense of identity and confidence through workshops in self-development
    • Hone their skills and talent
  4. Gender Sensatisation:

  5. Women Welfare Committee (WWC) is constituted in the college in accordance with the section 4 (1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Any girl student/member of the faculty/non-teaching staff may approach this committee for aid. Women Welfare Committee (WWC) is extremely alert to the matters pertaining to sexual harassment of women and gender insensitivity in the College. A Committee, comprising of members from the teaching and non-teaching staff and students representatives is constituted to supervise and monitor the activities of the Committee.

  6. Music and Cultural Committee:
  7. The Music and Culture Committee of the College have always excelled in all its three wings namely Music, Dance and Drama. Over the years it has been bringing home several trophies and prizes won at inter-college level. It has won prizes for acting and direction at several prestigious competitions at district and state level. It is extremely active committee which tries to inculcate in students a sense of their cultural values and helps them understand the importance of preserving their rich arts and culture heritage.
