Jaintia Eastern College, Khliehriat, in partnership with Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Cement Limited (DBL), Thangskai, East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, inaugurated the DIKSHa Beauty Care Centre on 26th February 2026. The initiative aims to empower students and youth with job-ready skills, promote vocational education and entrepreneurship and create sustainable livelihood opportunities in East Jaintia Hills.
The DIKSHa Beauty Care Centre offers practical, industry-oriented training in beauty care, covering personal grooming, skincare, hair care, makeup, manicure and pedicure, hygiene and safety and basic salon management. The programme also promotes confidence, creativity, entrepreneurship and professional skills, enabling trainees to pursue employment, self-employment or establish their own beauty-care businesses.
Through this initiative, Jaintia Eastern College aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing students and youth with job-ready and market-oriented skills which is also in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
